ADVOCATE FOR MASSAGE THERAPY AS A RECOGNIZED & RESPECTED HEALTHCARE PROFESSION
Many of us are working in isolation. Even in clinics with multiple practitioners, schedules often leave little room to connect with other therapists. The WSMTA’s Clinical Practices Program offers monthly support group meetings designed to bridge that gap.
What You Can Expect: These 90-minute Zoom sessions happen on the 1st Monday of each month from 7:00–8:30pm. Each meeting includes a pre-determined topic relevant to the massage therapy profession in Washington State, followed by open time for questions and discussion.
Whether you're navigating a tricky situation in your practice, needing clarity on a regulation, or just craving connection—you’ll find a supportive community here.
Expect space to inform, discuss, vent, problem-solve, and grow—together.
Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) & Hypermobility Disorders
Hypermobility disorders affect every system of the body and are vastly underdiagnosed. Patients have a wide variety of symptoms, see multiple specialists with poor treatment results, and are frequently referred to psychiatric care. Massage therapists with some knowledge of hypermobility disorders may be the first ones to suggest seeking a diagnosis from a knowledgeable physician. Additionally, hypermobility disorders change the way we need to work with patients in many ways. As healthcare providers we need to understand the issues involved in order to provide safe and effective treatments.
Merey Grearson, LMT will share the science and the statistics about symptoms and effects of hypermobility disorders. Please do not miss this group!
Meetings are open to members, and non-members. For CE Credit activate your Membership within 24-hours after attending the event.
Zoom link will be sent with registration confirmation.
