Secretary

Is a Director, who is then elected to the office of Secretary, by the other Directors.

Primary Qualifications:

  • Must be a WSMTA member.

  • Must be willing to sign WSMTA Non-Disclosure,  Acknowledgment of Responsibility and other WSMTA Policy documents.

  • Excellent writing skills.

  • Strong computer skills (Word, Google Drive, etc.).

  • Strong representative of yourself, WSMTA and the massage profession in a professional and competent manner.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work on your own and collaboratively in groups. 

  • Strong organizational skills. 

Specific Duties:

  1. Maintains records of the board and ensures effective management of organization's records
  2. Records, amends and manages the minutes of board meetings, as the Recording Secretary.
  3. Ensures minutes are distributed to members shortly after each meeting
  4. Is sufficiently familiar with legal documents (articles, by-laws, IRS letters, etc.) to note applicability during meetings.
  5. Periodically respond to member questions via email.

Membership Program Director

Appointed by the Board of Directors, Non-voting unless they also serve as a Board Director

Primary Qualifications:

  • Must be passionate about promoting the Massage Therapy profession as healthcare.

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and credibility quickly with LMT’s.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, writing and negotiation skills are essential to success in this position.

  • Have one of the following:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related equivalent degree or experience.

    • 1-2 years experience in sales, school admissions, healthcare clinic ownership or management is also acceptable.

    • Ability to develop and implement a strategic sales or admissions plan. 

  • Proven track record of taking initiative and innovative approaches to meet or surpass performance goals.

  • Must possess an entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to demonstrate flexibility. 

  • Must be or become a Professional or Supporting member of WSMTA.

Specific Duties:

  1. Position must keep current with WSMTA programs and its strategic directions by attending regular board meetings to use as necessary in membership development.

  2. Outreach to LMTs, schools and other organizations to build membership.

  3. Support current membership with career development opportunities. Coordinate with WSMTA Directors to hold events for CE and other career development opportunities as needed.

  4. Coordinate with other WSMTA programs as needed to create materials and information flow to support its efforts.

  5. Maintain files, calendar, and membership database.

  6. Planning, analysis, development and tracking of annual goals.

  7. Manage contacts and online content for membership resources and event pages (related to membership).

  8. Work across programs to develop communications, registration management and satisfaction surveys affecting membership.

  9. Prepare, manage and track membership budget and process expenses.

  10. Recruit other volunteers as program members to support the membership function as needed.
