Remembrance for Kim and Jim Hartley

24 Jun 2026 9:33 AM | Robbin Blake (Administrator)

The massage therapy community lost two deeply respected teachers and massage therapists with the passing of Kim and Jim Hartley in May this year. For many years, Kim and Jim devoted themselves to teaching Lomi Lomi massage and sharing the philosophy, compassion, and spirit that are at the heart of this work.

Through their teaching, mentorship, and dedication, they touched the lives of countless massage therapists and students. Their influence extended far beyond the classroom. They helped shape massage therapists who carried forward not only techniques, but also a deeper understanding of presence, connection, caring touch and all the other aspects of the spirit of “aloha”.

Kim and Jim were part of a generation of educators who helped strengthen and elevate the massage therapy profession. Their commitment to preserving and teaching Lomi Lomi created lasting impacts within our community and helped many therapists find both professional direction and personal inspiration. Those who studied with them often spoke of their generosity, warmth, patience, and genuine passion for healing work. Their legacy lives on through the many massage therapists they taught and the clients who continue to benefit from their teachings.

On behalf of the massage therapy community, we extend our deepest condolences to their family, friends, students, and all who knew and loved them. Kim and Jim Hartley will be remembered with gratitude, respect, and affection for the lasting contributions they made to the profession of massage therapy and for their gentle spirits while on this earth.

Kim and Jim’s funeral will be held this Friday, June 26th at noon.  You can attend in person or watch a live stream on YouTube.  There will also be a remembrance for them on Saturday, June 27th at noon.  For full details click on this link:  https://www.kimandjimhartley.us/
